Why am I gathering advice?

Different ways of living, of life experiences, of attitudes taken towards these experiences, and different contexts, give origin to different ways of understanding life and therefore, multiple forms of advice. Nevertheless, our differences are all still born from and connected by a common background: our human nature, which is the reason why inside such an immense amount of prospects present in human experience, there is also room for the creation of relations, common knowledge, and therefore an important value in shared advice.
Advice operates as a connection between the subjective, and the objective. It is an Intangible cultural heritage[1] that is shared freely, and thus speaks directly about our life experience, both as individuals and as a community. In this intangible wealth is where I find inspiration and potential to use advice as a great instrument to explore, understand, and encourage human interaction. Advice seeks to be a guide towards a specific place or interest. Which is why its examination will serve to question the background, the interests, the perceptions or ideals that motivate a given exhortation.
The main objective of this project is interaction. Creating a space for communication where myself and as many other people as possible can find interconnecting points. I’ve always been intrigued and have constantly questioned myself about the roots and connections of our interactions as humans. This gives rise to a need to explore these interactions, to recognize patterns and create associations, to set in motion experiences and events through the construction of networks, and to explore both personally and artistically the unlimited reach of these links.
Furthermore, the need to reach out in order to be able to reach inside, has been haunting and inspiring me all my life. I believe it’s true that “When the individual thinks he is casting an objective eye upon himself, he is, in the final analysis, contemplating nothing other than the result of perpetual transactions with the subjectivity of others.”[2]
This leads to the other significant goal of this project: increasing my personal prosperity. I am, after all, constantly searching for awareness and understanding, for an improved grasp of life. I am hunting for answers and I see this project as an opportunity to have first hand access to the gift of knowledge, to pieces of information that could help me know myself better or might bring up new questions that might shape my personal path. Each new person I meet presents itself with a new view of the world, a new perspective, a new outlook, and a new chance at solving the still unsolvable mystery of life.

[1] Intangible Cultural Heritage means the practices, representations, expressions, knowledge, skills – as well as the instruments, objects, artifacts and cultural spaces associated therewith – that communities, groups and, in some cases, individuals recognize as part of their cultural heritage. This intangible cultural heritage, transmitted from generation to generation, is constantly recreated by communities and groups in response to their environment, their interaction with nature and their history, and provides them with a sense of identity and continuity, thus promoting respect for cultural diversity and human creativity. For the purposes of this Convention, consideration will be given solely to such intangible cultural heritage as is compatible with existing international human rights instruments, as well as with the requirements of mutual respect among communities, groups and individuals, and of sustainable development.
